If you want to catch fish, this is as close to a guaranteed catch as it gets!

From start to finish, the experience was absolutely fantastic. We didn’t feel like tourists on a fishing trip, but like part of a real fishing crew. We learned an incredible amount, caught plenty of fish, and had an amazing time doing it.

Mihovil and his crew are true professionals with an extraordinary knowledge of fishing and the local waters. What makes them stand out even more is how genuinely friendly, patient, and accommodating they are. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or a complete beginner, I can’t recommend this trip highly enough. Easily one of the best fishing experiences we’ve ever had, and definitely something we’ll be coming back for!

We went fishing in early October and started the day at 09:00 in Korcula port. The captain has a nice fishing boat and while there was 3 of us there was plenty of room. We went then to the first fishing location in between the islands of Korcula and Lastovo, the boat ride was around 45 minutes. There we began fishing with live bait (they had live squid to ensure the best probability of catching fish). We tried 5 locations for fishing and at 2 of them we could get a fish. We caught 2 species, 5x zobatac krunaš (Dentex gibbosus) and 1 John Dory (special highlight!!). The captain said that on that day the fish didn’t bait as they do normally but nonetheless we had some great action. After the sunset we stayed for squid fishing and caught about 11kg in 3 hours. We came back around 02:00.

Very disappointing experience, especially for €800.
I booked the Deep Sea Offshore trip advertised as vertical jigging targeting species such as dentex, John Dory, red porgy and amberjack. In reality, we caught only a few fish, with dentex being the only advertised target species we actually caught. I caught the biggest one, but for most of the trip I was simply sitting around and getting bored instead of actively fishing.
There were only about three live squid available. When that wasn't working, there seemed to be no proper backup plan. I even suggested spinning because I wanted to actually fish, but the captain told me it wasn't a good method. Later we ended up trying to catch small garfish instead, which was definitely not what I booked a €800 Deep Sea Offshore trip for.
For €800, I expected a properly prepared, active fishing experience with enough bait and alternative methods if the original plan wasn't working. Instead, I spent far too much time doing nothing.
Considering how the trip actually turned out, I also think the price should have been reduced rather than charging the full €800.

Had a fantastic day fishing with Mihovil “Mike”.   We caught some very nice Dory and topped it off with a 7kg Mahi Mahi on a fly rod which was the bucket list target for the day. We even caught a small bluefin on fly which was released to grow big for another day. Mike’s knowledge of the area is supreme which made for a very memorable and productive day. We really enjoyed our sightseeing/snorkelling tour with Michael. When we got on the boat, he asked us if there was anything we particularly wanted to see or do, and then made sure we did all of them, including finding a suitable cliff jump, a huge shipwreck to snorkel, an island with wild deer and a couple of beautiful swimming spots. Michael was interesting and told us about the history of various islands as we passed them. He provided drinks, and also his wife had made up some delicious sandwiches which were greatly appreciated. We had a wonderful day out with Mike, we found him extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. We took our 3 year old daughter with us and he went out of his way to find a nice place for her to enjoy a safe swim. We had a lovely day and the captain (Mike) was amazing with finding a good spot for us to snorkel and especially with my 3 year old niece.
